Sparaxis
How to Propagate
and Grow Successfully

Sparaxis originate from South Africa and are a genus of perennial spring and summer flowering cormous gardening plants.

Leaves are basal, semi lax and sword shaped.

Flowers are open funnel shape, pink, red, purple, orange, cream or white with yellow and black centers and form on long spikes.

Common Names: Harlequin Flower, Wand Flower.

Classification: Corm.

Height: 25cm (10inches).

Flowering: Throughout spring.


Where to plant info

These gardening plants flower their socks off with a succession of eye catching flowers throughout spring. They deserve a place in anyone’s garden.

Where: Grow them in spring flowering borders or beds.

For the best effect grow harlequin flowers in large groups.

Site: They prefer full sun, they thrive in it.

Harlequin flowers do best when sheltered from cold winds.

Soil: Any rich and free draining soil.
