Rhodohypoxis
How to Propagate
and Grow Successfully

Rhodohypoxis originate from South Africa and are a genus of perennial flowering gardening plants.

Leaves are grey green, lance shape and thin.

Flowers are pink or rose pink and solitary.

Flowers will not tolerate being wet during winter months and sholud be protected from rain.

Common Names: Red star.

Classification: Corm.

Height: 10cm (4inches).

Flowering: From spring and throughout summer.


Where to plant info

Rhodohypoxis are attractive gardening plants with pretty flowers and they perform exceedingly well in rock gardens. They will flower throughout summer.

Where: Ideal for edging borders and beds.

They are perfect in alpine settings.

Grown in shallow dishes they make a splendid display.

Try growing them at the edge of or in the cracks of paths. Also try growing them in the cracks of walls. Both methods give an interesting display.

Site: They prefer full sun, they thrive in it!

Soil: Any rich and very free draining soil.
