Pictures of Exposed Tree Roots

Pictures of exposed tree roots after felling, digging out and uncovering roots.

Once the stump and roots in the picture have been removed any further roots found underneath will be exposed and removed.

When all the stump and all roots have been removed the hole will be back filled with soil, compacting by treading over the area. It will be left for a couple of months to settle and topped up with soil if it has subsided. The area can then be used, in this case replanted as a flower bed.

Its heavy work but essential if you want to use the ground for growing flowers or vegetables, or any other type of plant.

Leaving tree stumps or tree roots of felled trees in the ground can cause problems in future years in your garden.

They will rot and may become diseased, not a good environment for growing flowers, vegetables or even shrubs or another tree.

And if you build over a tree stump or roots of a felled tree you could have major problems in the future.

As the stump and roots decay the ground will subside which could cause collapse or severe damage to your building.

So hard work it may be, but just get on with it and get that stump and those roots out!

If you use a chainsaw it is essential you are properly trained in its safe use - they are dangerous, sometimes lethal, so make sure you know how to use it safely.
