Merendera
How to Propagate
and Grow Successfully

Merendera originate from Europe and are a genus of perennial spring flowering corm gardening plants.

Leaves are narrow lance shape and semi arching.

Flowers are pink or white, open with five large petals.

These gardening plants are almost stem less, flowers form at near ground level.

Common Names: Merendera.

Classification: Corm.

Height: 8cm (3inches).

Flowering: Throughout spring.


Where to plant info

These gardening plants are not very common and may be hard to find. You may need to try specialist nurseries to find them. However they are an interesting and rewarding plant to grow. They are recommended where you need ground cover.

Where: Grow them at the front of spring flowering borders or beds.

They are ideal for growing in rock gardens.

Site: They prefer full sun.

They need to be sheltered from cold winds to perform their best.

Soil: Any rich, moist but very free draining soil.
