Heteropappus
How to Propagate
and Grow Successfully

Heteropappus originate from Western Siberia and are a genus of biennial gardening plants.

This gardening plant grows in mound form, 30cm (12inches) high with a spread of 45cm (18inches) across.

Leaves are normally alternate or opposite, sometimes in basal rosettes, but are usually covered more or less completely by flowers.

Flowers are blue and resemble Chrysanthemums, they form in masses which completely cover the plant.

Where to plant info

These are a wonderful ground cover plant and will look good in any autumn, fall, flowering bed or border.

They are very rain tolerant so can be planted in exposed areas.

Where: Ideal for borders and beds.

They are ideal for patio tubs and pots.

Site: They prefer full sun, they thrive in it!

They will also do well in partial shade.

Soil: Any rich and free draining soil.


Propagation info:

By seed in early spring or autumn.

Best germinating temperature: 70 deg F.

Time from sowing to germination: 14 to 21 days.
