Gloriosa
How to Propagate
and Grow Successfully

Gloriosa originate from tropical regions of Asia and Africa and are a genus of tuberous summer and autumn (fall) flowering gardening plants.

Leaves are short, broad, arching, light to dark green and striped.

Flowers are a striking yellow and red with open curly edged petals.

This is a particularly good climbing gardening plant.

Common Names: Glory Lily, Climbing Lily.

Classification: Tuber.

Height: 2m (72inches).

Flowering: Summer through to autumn.


Where to plant info

Gloriosa are an excellent climbing gardening plant and with its attractive leaves and striking yellow and red flowers it makes an interesting focal point.

Where: They are ideal for climbing up trellis, fences and walls.

Plant them under shrubs and low growing trees so they can grow through branches, this is avery good way to grow Gloriosa.

Grow them up and over pergolas with Clematis or other climbing gardening plants.

Site: They prefer partial shade.

They do best shaded from winds.

Soil: Any rich, moist but free draining soil.
