Cultivar: x hybrida

Common Names: Freesia.

Classification: Corm.

Height: 45cm (18inches).

Flowering: Through summer. Autumn and winter indoor only depending on species and climate.


Where to plant info

Where: Grow freesia in summer flowering borders or beds. Indoors autumn (fall) and winter depending on species and climate.

Freesia make excellent cut flowers and are usually grown for this purpose.

Site: Freesia prefer full sun, they thrive in it!

Freesia need shelter from cold winds to survive.

Freesias will not survive winter outdoors. After flowering has finished, lift and discard.

Buy new corms each season.

Soil: Any free draining soil.


Propagation info It is not viable to try and propagate the autumn flowering F. x hybrida.
