Dicentra originate from North America and Asia and are a genus of rhizomatous or tuberous perennial gardening plants.
Leaves are greyish green and oval or bluish grey, delicate and fern like.
Heart shaped pink, white or yellow flowers are borne in racemes, on arching stems.
They are especially good plants for cooler climates.

Best germination temperature: 70 deg F.
Use only fresh seed (sow immediately after collecting) otherwise they will not germinate.
Time from sowing to germination: 10 - 14 weeks onwards.
They are very slow at germinating, so be patient.
