Cheiranthus
How to Propagate
and Grow Successfully

Cheiranthus originate from Europe and are a genus of biennial gardening plants.

Leaves are lance shape and can be lax.

Flowers on very dense spikes with many colour variations, red, orange, yellow, all in various shades.

They flower freely and are fragrant.

Common Names: Wallflower.

Classification: Biennial.

Height: 45cm (18inches).

Flowering: From spring through to mid summer.




Where to plant info

Wallflowers are one of the most common spring flowering gardening plants and will be found in most spring flowering beds and borders.

Their colour range is huge so they will fit in with any mixed plantings.

They add something special to spring with their pleasant fragrance.

Where: Ideal for spring flowering borders and beds.

Plant them in patio tubs and pots for eye catching spring flowering displays.

Site: They prefer full sun, they thrive in it!

Soil: Any rich and free draining soil.

By seed from May through to June.

Best germination temperature: 70 deg F.

Time from sowing to germination: 7 to 14 days.
