Bacopa
How to Propagate
and Grow Successfully


Bacopa originate from many parts of the world including Central and Southern USA, India and the tropics.

They are a genus of low growing and mound forming annual and perennial gardening plants with a creeping, spreading habit.

Leaves are thick, attractive, denate and spoon shaped and are oppositely on their stems.

Flowers are very tiny, petite white and four or five petalled.

Flowers are borne single in pairs.

They are excellent ground cover gardening plants.

Classification: Perennial.

Height: 10cm (4inches).

Where to plant info

Use this gardening plant for ground cover in borders and beds, rockeries, indeed anywhere you need decorative ground cover.

Where: Bacopa is ideal for bog gardens or grown at the edge of ponds.

It has a creeping habit so you will need to keep it in check so it does not become invasive.

Site: They prefer full sun, they thrive in it!

Soil: They require very moist soil and are best grown as marginals, semi-aquatic .


Propagation info: By division in spring.
