Babiana originate from South Africa and are a genus of perennial spring flowering corm gardening plants. Leaves are ribbed, sword like and light to mid green. Flowers are yellow, pink, red or blue and are flute or cup shaped and some are fragrant.

These are handsome gardening plants and although not very common they deserve to be searched for as they make a striking effect in any spring flowering bed or border.
