Anigozanthos
How to Propagate
and Grow Successfully

Anigozanthos are a native of South West Australia and are a genus of clump forming perennial flowering gardening plants.

Leaves are greenish grey, strap shaped and sword like.

Flowers are peculiar two lipped and tubular paw shaped and are long lasting.

They have a large range of colours from pink, yellow, orange through to different shades of red.

Family: Haemodoraceae

Species: A. manglesii

Common Names: Kangaroo paw.

Classification: Perennial.

Height: 120cm (48inches).

Flowering: From spring through to summer.


Where to plant info

Where: Ideal in borders and beds. For best effect grow in groups.

Site: Anigozanthos prefer full sun, they thrive in it!

Soil: they prefer a poor free draining soil.

Dig in plenty of well rotted manure or leaf mould before planting.


Propagation info By seed in summer.

Seed must be sown immediately after collecting.
